Re: Frequency Outputs

Hi Gunnar, your last explanation is perfect, thanks! I've a much better understanding now of the functionality of these two outputs and how useful (or not) they may be for my purposes.

Just to give you an idea, we currently use in our PCAN-MicroMods 8-bit PWM for backlight control, running at 100Hz ...

Re: Frequency Outputs

Thanks for taking the time to provide an explanation, but I don't think I'm quite there. I've always appreciated that I could drive the duty cycle with an 8-bit, 10-bit, or even 16-bit CAN bus message. But what isn't clear to me is what step sizes are used by the MicroMod when adjusting/generating ...

Frequency Outputs

I'm looking at redesigning our existing MicroMod motherboard so that we can use your new PCAN-MicroMod FD modules in future systems and to support our existing systems. The key to my new design is to maintain as much backwards compatibility as possible with our original motherboard design, as we ...

Migrating from PCAN-MicroMod to PCAN-MicroMod FD

I see that you intend to make the PCAN-MicroMod obsolete this year, and your webpage suggests using the PCAN-MicroMod FD for future projects. I don't see any guidance on migrating existing designs based on the original device to the new one. Have you created any such documentation?

Admittedly, I ...

Re: Missing RTR responses

Hi Gunnar,

Looking back on the logs from my previous runs, it appears that we had no XMT Queue overruns whatsoever. Because I had two PCs running on the network, one transmitting and the other monitoring only, I can see that all RTR requests are getting out from the transmitting PC and are ...

Re: Missing RTR responses

Hi Gunnar,

Thanks for your response; it definitely helps in trying to understand the nature of our problem.

With our “real software” we don’t send out RTRs at a faster rate than 1mS as you stated, but we do occasionally see a certain MicroMod address failing to respond. Rather strangely the ...

Missing RTR responses

Hi Guys,

I'm following up on a previous post:

http://www.peak-system.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=2097

In the above, I was asking about the possibility of a MicroMod not responding to an RTR message from an angle of CANBus message "clashing". I'm happy enough with your response and it ...

MicroMod RTR message information

Hi Guys,

I'm trying to find a bit more information out with regards to the MicroMod and how it behaves in response to a RTR message in particular, although the question may be applicable to all messages transmitted by a MicroMod.

In the event of a message collision, is there a limit to how many ...
