Re: PCAN Explorer 6 w/ PCAN USB Pro - Beginner Help Required

Hi, if you already receive data with 500k, your vehicle uses a high-speed CAN transceiver system. CAN LowSpeed or Single-Wire systems uses a bitrate <125k. To have an overview over the possible CAN transceiver types, see our busconverter modules or the wikipedia website: https://www.peak-system.com/...

Re: ISO 17987-2 support

Hi,

at the moment there are no plans to support ISO 17987-2 with our LIN devices. We only offer an API for the raw LIN data (PLIN-API)

Re: PCAN Explorer 6 w/ PCAN USB Pro - Beginner Help Required

Hi, to be able to read data from a specific vehicle, you must know the bitrate and the used CAN transceiver type of the CAN bus. There are highspeed, lowspeed (fault folerant), and also single wire CAN transceivers available on the CAN bus systems of cars. To get details you have to contact the manu...

Re: Detect when a specific CAN-ID has been received in an interface

Hi, please have a look in the PCAN-Light or PCANBasic help files or headerfiles. With the Read() function you will receice a message structure in which you have a CAN ID member. Here an example of the old PCAN-Light (pcan_usb.dll) API: // CAN Message // typedef struct { DWORD ID; // 11/29 bit identi...

Re: PCAN-USB X6 Disable sending

Hi,

there is no direct hardware option available to prevent transmitting, but you can modify the transceiver module by lifting the CAN TX pin to disable transmitting on hardware level (good soldering tools necessary!).

Re: Cannot install peak-linux-driver

Hi,

as a first step, please build the driver without sudo as written in the manual.

make clean
make
sudo make install
sudo modprobe pcan

than post the output of cat /proc/pcan

Next, what do you want to do?

Re: No exception or display

Hi,

this could also be a LabWindows/CVI related issue (no overloading possible), simply use 5 parameters with 0 for the last three parameters.

Re: Detect when a specific CAN-ID has been received in an interface

Hi, the commands you have listed is a PCAN-Explorer standard macro. Best solution will be to use PCAN-Explorer for such a task, isn't it? If you want to do the same application with an own application, you need a timer or use an event to read the CAN frames, and synchronize this with your "macro". A...
