Re: Sending real time data from PCAN USB to Raspberry pi4

Hi, please check your CAN cables for 120Ohms termination resistors on both ends. Next, please send a screenshot of the Windows PCAN-View showing the frames you are transmitting and the status bar. Please also post the ip link command you have used to configure can0 on your pi. BTW: in a linux consol...

Re: Add support for ubuntu 20.04 Focal Fossa ?

Hi,

since driver version 8.10.1 and up the peak-linux-driver does also support the kernel version used with Ubuntu 20.04.

See driver history here: http://www.peak-system.com/fileadmin/me ... story.html

Re: Time to wait after reset transmit and receive buffer

Hi, with the PCANBasic CAN_Reset() function, the driver RX and TX queue will be flusht. However, some messages could already be in the hardware buffer, which will not be deleted by that API call. Please have a look into the PCANBasic help file, there you will find more details on how to delete all b...

Re: VirtualBox Linux guest not seeing can0

Hello,

there is no need to install the windows drivers, if you want to use the PCAN-USB in the Linux VM. Please check with lsusb if the PCAN-USB is correctly recognized in the VM system. If not, please update your VirtualBox to latest version 6.x first.

Re: Add support for ubuntu 20.04 Focal Fossa ?

Hi, yes, we are working on a new release of the peak-linux-driver, however when using SocketCAN, there is no need to install our driver. All PCAN PC hardware modules will be fully supported by the netdev driver included in the kernel 5.x. Simply call sudo make uninstall in the peak-linux-driver-8.xx...

Hi,

sure you have another active CAN node with the same baudrate and a terminated CAN cable connected to the PCAN-USB FD?

Re: PEAK CAN reading sent message

Hi,

we received nearly the same issue by email to our support email address (same code, same questions). This was already answered, and it makes no sense for us to answer twice to the same issue, this will just double our work.

Re: PCAN-LIN Support

Hi, looks like you also send the same request to our support email address. Please don't double our work by posting the same here in the forum. So the first part is already answered, see help in PCAN-LIN CT. About your checksum error: please check the frame config in PCAN-LIN and adapte it to the ch...

Re: Diagnostic response not received

Hi, a diagnostic request on LIN is initiate by a 0x3C master requests (publisher), followed by one or more 0x3D slave response frames (subscriber). So the first response will tell you if it is a single frame or a first frame for additional consecutive frames (ISO-TP or UDS on LIN). So the internal s...
