Cannot connect to PCAN-LIN

Post by jeff_lynn » Thu 25. Jun 2020, 17:07

Hi,
I have a PCAN-LIN device, and as the title says, I cannot connect to it using the PCAN-LIN CT software. The device itself is working, and I have been able to connect to it and send commands using a terminal emulator, but doesn't work with its configurator software. I use windows 10 64 bit, and as my pc lacks serial ports, an usb to serial converter. What can be the problem?

Hello,

Thank you for your request!

Can you please check the following?

Open up Device-Manager and check your device (Should be listed under COM) properties, which manufacturer is listed there?:

Please report back to me with your findings.

Hi Marvin,
It is Prolific. Yesterday we tried using an another one that was a different brand but I cannot remember what is was, but it didn't work either.

Hello Gyula,

We know of issues with adaptors using Prolific chips.

Adaptors using FTDI chips will work with the PCAN-LIN.

Best Regards
