HOT: weird problems with PCAN-USB

Post by G.Lang » Thu 15. Dec 2011, 11:53

Dear customer,

if you are using a PCAN-USB (ISO) adaptor on new computers and having weird problems like:

-> wrong CAN-data :shock:
-> frezzing application :evil:
-> bluescreen :x

then please check if the used port is a USB-SuperSpeed or USB 3.0 port. If so, then use a USB 2.0 port instead or update your SuperSpeed or USB 3.0 driver (there are no drivers for USB 3.0 included in Win XP/Vista & 7). This will fix the problem :D .

Unfortunately most computer manufactures distribute old (and buggy :o ) drivers for such SuperSpeed or USB 3.0 chips. Please verifiy the "origin" of the SuperSpeed chip and then download and install the current driver from the origin chip manufacturer (Renesas or Texas Instruments for example).

Please take also a look at the following topic: http://www.peak-system.com/forum/viewto ... ?f=7&t=191
