DBC import

Post by JayDeeTech » Fri 2. Dec 2022, 14:06

Hello,
For the Diag FD do I have to covert DBC to PEAK symbol using the symbol editor?

Does the symbol editor require a liecenceto do this? Is this licence included with the PCAN-Diag FD.

regards, John.

Hello,

yes, you need a PCAN-Explorer 6 license with CAN_db Add-In to be able to import dbc files in the symbol editor.

Michael

Ok, to confirm, to get the full use of the Diag FD you need the full Peak software tool chain and it should not be considered a stand alone product?

The Diag FD could not use CANdb Files, it use Symbol files. See product description.
The PCAN-Explorer (PC Software) have a additional option of import / export the file format from company VECTOR to our Symbol files.
The Diag-FD is a CAN Layer 1 Tool! Using it for decoding CAN layer 2 Data is a additional function, using our Symbol files.
So, no - no need of additional Software, It s a completely independent product. Simply use our format with our Editor for CAN decoding.
