The slave cannot receive subscribe messages from master

Post by yuan.g » Mon 27. Mar 2023, 15:58

Hello Team,

I have been trying out the driver and the tools on Linux, e.g. linread, linwrite and lin, recently. And I found when the master subscribes using a scheduler, the slave doesn't really receive any subscribe messages. Following is how I do it:

Master:
lin start master 9600 /dev/plin0
lin set sub-frm-entry 0x22 --cs-enhanced --auto-len /dev/plin0
lin add unc-schd-slot 0 100 0x22 /dev/plin0
lin start schedule 0 /dev/plin0

Slave:
on Linux:
lin start slave 9600 /dev/plin1
lin set id-filter 0xff:0xff:0xff:0xff:0xff:0xff:0xff:0xff /dev/plin1
linread /dev/plin1

My understanding is the slave is able to receive the messages periodically, right? Could you please help me with this problem?

Many thanks!

Best regards,
Yuan

Hi,

which hardware from PEAK are you using? Please post a picture.
Did you supply the LIN transceivers of the PLIN hardware with 12V?

regards

Michael

Hello Michael,

Many thanks for your fast reply!

I am using the hardware PCAN-USB-Pro-FD, here is the link https://www.peak-system.com/PCAN-USB-Pr ... .html?&L=1 .

I did connect it to the power supply of 12v.

Additional info:
When I set up the master on a Windows PC with PLIN-View Pro, and a slave on Linux. It works perfectly. The master can send out the subscribe messages periodically, and the slave is able to receive them and publish the data.

But on the other way round, when the master is on Linux, and the slave is on Windows, seems the master is not sending out the subscribe message periodically.

Thanks and if more info is needed, please let me know.

Best,
Yuan

Hello Michael,

I got the driver from this page https://forum.peak-system.com/viewtopic ... 237&t=5875, which is the only driver I found. Is there any updated version of it?

P.S. A colleague could not compile that driver on Ubuntu 20, but my Ubuntu 18 works. is it a common issue?

Many thanks and I look forward to your reply!

Best regards,
Yuan

Hi,

yes, there is a newer plin driver available. Please send an email to our support email address, showing a photo of the used PLIN hardware (showing the serial number) and your full company address details, to be able to provide you a newer driver version.

regards

Michael
