Post by zapar25059 » Wed 6. Mar 2019, 10:40

Hi.
my platform base is Ubuntu 14.04.5 , kernel version is 4.4.0-31-generic.

Code: Select all

$ sudo apt-get install libncurses5
$ sudo dpkg --install pcanview-ncurses_0.8.7-0_amd64.deb
but there is error message while the second command.
here is my output message:

Code: Select all

looks like "Libncurses5" is too old to install PCAN view now. but there is no option with apt-get install newer one.
can anybody help this problem ?

Hi,

Could you please try to install the attached one? This one has been made for trusty.

Code: Select all

$ tar -xzf pcanview-ncurses_0.8.7-5_amd64-trusty.tar.gz
$ sudo dpkg -i pcanview-ncurses_0.8.7-5_amd64-trusty.deb
Thanks for your feedback.

Best regards,

Hi.
This trusty build is workable for installation.
but it has problem while creating a Tx test. (Rx test is good). I just can see the logs about sending message. but nothing received from my others node.
To prove my client is still working, I try to use transmitest for Tx testing and it is workable.
is there anything that i can provide here for debugging this issue?

Hi,

Please give us the output of:

Code: Select all

$ cat /proc/pcan
$ lspcan -t -T -i
$ dmesg | grep pcan
Can you do quite the same test with:

Code: Select all

$ pcanfdtst tx -p 1000000 -ie 0x7ff -I 8 /dev/pcanusb32
Meanwhile, from another window, type:

Code: Select all

$ while :; do clear; lspcan -t -T -s; sleep 1; done
and check whether the number in the "tx" column increases and if the "err" column stays 0.
Finally, can you also please give us the command line that works with transmitest.

Thanks and regards,
— Stéphane

Hi,

Everything sounds good. So, did you see the 21 CAN frames written with "pcanfdtst tx" received on the other node?

if you installed all needed files correct, the tool is part of the /usr/bin folder.
Simply change to the /usr/bin folder and check if the applicaton is available by type ls pcan*
If yes you only need to type pcanview and the tool will start.
