Hello,

Thank you for your request.

Our general recommendation still holds true for your kernel version as well:

You'll need to install the kernel headers in order to install the PCAN-Linux driver,
you may want to check the appropiate resources for your Distro on how to install them,
usually under Raspbian that would be done via:

Code: Select all

sudo apt install raspberrypi-kernel-headers
Also we do strongly recommend the use of our latest PCAN-Linux driver
version 13:

Best Regards

Raspberry Pi Fundation released a new version of the raspberry pi 4 model b, called "rev 1.5", with new hardware, that need firmware from april 21 or newer.

Is there a solution to make it work now that we are on 5.x kernels ?

Hi,

do you have that new PI module already in use? Do you have any issues with it? If so, please post the problems to be able to help you. We don't have such a module available at the moment.

Hello,

There is a problem in installing the old raspbian on those raspberries.

However, the peak-linux-driver work flawlessly on the new raspberry and it has been a mistake of mine.

Just following the instructions made my raspberry read and write like a charm.

Just to confirm that using latest PCAN-Linux driver and through to the instructions worked for socketcan. was able to read/write CAN bus message on RPI 3.0B with PCAN-USB.
