PCAN-USB Pro FD Linux cansend issue

Post by mlamunion_rivian » Wed 18. Nov 2020, 23:39

Hey I'm probably doing something totally wrong here. I'm just trying to send some CAN-FD frames to one of my devices with the PCAN-USB Pro FD (the black one). Here's what I'm running:

Code: Select all

lamun ~$ cansend can1 123##30102030405060708
CAN interface is not CAN FD capable - sorry.
To bring up the interface I run the following:

Code: Select all

#!/bin/sh
sudo modprobe can
sudo modprobe can-raw
sudo modprobe peak_usb
sudo ip link set can1 up type can bitrate 500000
Here's the output of ip link for reference:

Code: Select all

lamun ~$ ip link show dev can1
76: can1: <NOARP,ECHO> mtu 16 qdisc noop state DOWN mode DEFAULT group default qlen 10
    link/can
other info:

Code: Select all

lamun ~$ uname -a
Linux mike 5.9.6-arch1-1 #1 SMP PREEMPT Thu, 05 Nov 2020 21:00:46 +0000 x86_64 GNU/Linux
lamun ~$ cantools --version
35.3.0
I suspect I'm bringing the interface up wrong, I just re-used what I used for the little white PCAN-USB dongles.

Fixed with by changing my ip link setup to this:

Code: Select all

sudo ip link set can1 up type can bitrate 500000 dbitrate 2000000 fd on
