PCAN_GUID parameter with latest firmware

From the PCAN Basic API PCAN-Parameters documentation (v3.0):

PCAN-USB: Requires a FPGA-based device with firmware version equal to or greater than
3.5.1. Requires a driver version equal to or greater than 4.6.0.
At the time of writing this documentation only PCAN-USB Pro FD, and PCAN-USB FD devices
allow reading the GUID of the device.

One of PCAN-Basic-Adapter has the following firmware/driver installed (PEAK Flash):

Selected Hardware:
Hardware Name: PCAN-USB
Current Version: 2.8.0
Embedded Hardware:
Firmware Version: 5.4.0
Release Date: 18.04.2024

Calling Get_Value2013() with PCAN_DEVICE_GUID parameter fails with the error message "Wrong message parameter". of course, the firmware version is outdated.

My question is: Can I get the PCAN_DEVICE_GUID from the PCAN-USB (IPE002022), does the hardware support this? The adapter serial number is : S/N < 190000. Can I retrieve the serial number from the label (102936) programmatically? The parameter PCAN_DEVICE_PART_NUMBER returns just the IPEH-xxx article numbers.

No PCAN-USB is not supported, please note the following info from the docs:

At the time of writing this documentation only PCAN-USB Pro FD, and PCAN-USB FD devices
allow reading the GUID of the device.

Please keep in mind that PCAN-USB is a product that is in production since 2001,
so some features might remain unavailable on it despite our best efforts.

Thank you for the confirmation. We would have to replace our PEAK adapters then.

What is you latest PC-USB CAN-interface? I assume that we would have to upgrade to the PCAN-USB FD Interface, am I correct?

PCAN-USB FD (IPEH-004022) is the right choice here,
if you want the latest features the FD enabled PCAN devices are
the right way to go.
