Running Schedule Table for a LIN Slave

Post by nuno » Thu 30. Dec 2010, 12:10

Hello All!

I will try to explain what I need:

I recently found this transceiver and the PLIN-View Pro software. The first thing that attracted me was the fact that we can load an LDF, and run one of the schedule tables.

Now, my idea is to build an application of my own for testing a LIN Slave (V2.1) that would be able of:

1) Read the LDF file and load the schedule table selected to the PCAN USB Pro;
2) Start and Stop the schedule table;
3) Change the messages frames within that schedule table for controling the Slave (Illumination, etc.)
4) Get feedback from some frames to validate the functions of the Slave (errors, etc).

In summary, I need a system that loads the LDF, runs a schedule table allowing me to read and change specific frames.

Is it possible with this HW?

Thank you!

Hello Nuno,

yes this will be possible with the PCAN-USB-Pro. With the PLIN-View Pro software we deliver with the hardware, you can exactly do those things you have described in your post.
It will also be possible to use the PLinApi.dll to build an own application, the import of ldf files must than be implemented by your own application, a ldf file import function is not available with the PLinAPI.

best regards

Michael

Happy new year to all!

One question:

If I programm a schedule table in the PCAN-USB Pro with PLIN-View Pro software, does it keeps there if I disconect the module? (Like the PCAN LIN)

Hi,
you mean disconnecting the PCAN-USB Pro from the PC?
This is not possible - the PCAN-USB Pro is not a Stand-Alone Device - it need always the PC.
Only the PCAN-LIN could work as a Stand-Alone Device.
