PE6 Instrument Panel Object Actor limitation?

Post by blbus » Sat 28. Nov 2020, 18:11

An instrument panel Actor feedback signal will not result in a tx message if it is defined in the J1939 proprietary spaces.

One can define and place a signal into J1939 Proprietary ID spaces (PropB_00-FF, PropB1_00-FF, PropA/A1). If using an Instrument Panel object, e.g. an analog slider, one can associate the signal as expected in the object config panel but a feedback transmit message will not be generated within the PE6 transmit window. Simply dragging the signal to another message data byte, for example (PropB_00 ID - 1) and the feedback feature works. I've been unable to find any rules for this feature in the reference materials or help files.

Hello,

I was unable to replicate this issue,
can you provide us more information to further assess the issue?

Which Version of PCAN-Explorer 6 are you running ? (See: Help -> About PCAN-Explorer).

I assume you customized a copy of the J1939-Template Symbol-File?

Can you provide a screenshot of how your symbol (PropB_00 for example) is set up, when this
behaviour occurs?

Best Regards

Marvin

resolved. On stepping through it again, I did not reassign the symbol to the instrument object after changing the database.
