Data receiving is getting stopped

Post by Abhishek » Thu 12. May 2022, 11:04

Hi,
I'm using PCAN-USB between PC and microcontroller for continuously collecting data from microcontroller to PC. Data transfer is happening successfully but when 20 minutes are elapsed the PCAN stops receiving the data (the data from the microcontroller is still being sent on the bus).

what could be the possible reason of abrupt malfunctioning at 20 minutes?

Hi,

please check your CAN wiring for correct termination on both ends. Please enable the "log error frames" in the trace option, and log the data in a ring buffer, to see what is happening after 20 minutes. Please also provide details about driver version, PCANBasic is only the API, not the driver.

regards

Michael

Driver is up to date - but please answer the other questions.

- Check Termination (MUST be ~60 Ohm between CAN-H and CAN-L when System is powered off)
- Run the Tracer with all Error Flags settings set as Michael told you
