Cannot receive anything in the PCAN view software
Attached are the configurations of the CAN transmitter that I am doing to send a simple "HELLO" message out via CAN to the PCANViewer.
But on the PCAN viewer I am not seeing anything.
I am attaching the screenshot here.
I am having the doubt since my transmitter frequency is 54Mhz my time quanta is not a common one.
Can you please tell me which settings are needed to be selected for me to be able to receive the messages from the board.
I am using proper 120ohm resistors.
Should time quanta be the same on both the receiver and the transmitter side ?
When I try to send something after a while it says BUSHEAVY

Re: Cannot receive anything in the PCAN view software
Hi,
please check your CAN cables for correct termination resistors on both ends. Which PCAN hardware do you use? As we don't know your CAN transmitter, we can't tell you how you can configure it to 500kBit/s. But this will be essential to be able to communicate with our PCAN devices.
regards
Michael

I am using STM32F777ZItx with the frequency being supplied to the APB1 bus being 54MHz.
Please also tell me what other informations can I provide.
This is a custom board.
PCAN SJA1000, Please refer to the pic posted earlier.

Hi,
please send an email with a photo showing the serial number sticker of the PCAN hardware to our support email address.

Please see the circuitdiagram below.
And I already used a 120 ohm terminated connector on the PC side

Can you also please tell how will you make out that picture is related to this post.
Pls give some more info what should I put in the email.

Hi,
as written by email, we need to know which PCAN device you are using (thats why the photo, to see the serial number). If you want to communicate with your STM board with that PCAN-USB device, you have to setup the bitrate to the given value which you set in PCAN-View. Unfortunately we don’t know your STM board and therefore are not able to help you with your bitrate settings problem. This topic is also not related to our PCAN hardware devices, so it will be better to ask in a STM32 forum for help on how to setup a valid bitrate with this controller.
