Hi,
Let me 1st state that I'm pretty green with the Peak HW.
I just read through the PCAN-Router Pro FD user manual for the 4th or 5th time and counting. There are some things that still don't make sense to me.
- Section 5 talks about Creating your Own Firmware. Explains how to get Visual Studio and all that. Then uploading it with PEAK-Flash.
- Section 7 talks about Configuring the Data Logger. Super simple any text editor, follow the short list of rules. Installation super easy, copy config file to memory card.
Questions are:
1. What drives the need to configure my own Firmware? I want to setup a static IP, stop the PCAN-Router from auto recording on startup, change the baud rates and type from CAN-FD to CAN 2.0 and maybe
setup up a level trigger of the analog input. Is this "My Own Firmware" worthy?
2. Should I modify the config.txt with the "Data Logging" changes I want? Could this lock up the device if done incorrectly?
3. The manual also give the link to get PEAK-Converter. IT doesn't mention where I would load any .DBCs, did I miss this?
