PCAN-View Ring buffer

Post by Racailloux » Fri 28. Nov 2014, 09:29

Hello,

I am using PCAN-View with PCAN-USB and when I select the ring buffer, this stops at 100.000 datagram recorded and don't ring over the oldest datagram.
I updated to the latest version of PCAN-View and I am under Win7 x64.

the behavior between Linear and ring buffering is the same. Any suggestion?

Hi,

when you use linear buffer, the traces stops after 100000 messages, when you use ring buffering, the tracer will work normally until 100% buffer fill size, than it will remove the older messages, and will keep the newest messages only. This is working here with the same PCAN-View version without problems, maybe you think it will not work due to the fact that the RX/TX counter will not rise up anymore after 100% buffer fill size was reached, but you should see that the recording time will still rise up.

Hello,

Thanks for the fast answer.

Actually, whatever I use the ring or linear buffer, the new datagrams are not received after 100% of buffer is reach. The oldest are not replaced by latest one in ring mode. That is the problem I got.

Hi,

does the recording time rise up after the buffer is full in ring buffer mode? Please post some screenshots of the PCAN-View showing the problem, or contact us by phone, to check your system. It is working here without problems on our system.

regards

Michael
