Gateway in company LAN

Hello,
i will use the Ethernet Gateway DR in our company LAN and therefore o have an problem.
The Ethernet Gateway DR has an defined IP address.
The gateway doesn't get access to our local LAN.
When i plug the patch cable out and in the switch doesn't recognize the device. Only when a power cycles of the gateway happend the switch recognize the gateway and show his MAC address.

Is there an Solution for this Problem?

So the Problem is solved, i must add default routes and activate them so the device sends automatic Ethernet packages.
