Hi,
Interested in using the PCAN Router Pro as a 4 channel CAN logger.
I'd just like to confirm a few points.
What message rate is supported? I.e. can I log 4 1Mbps channels at full utilization simultaneously
What is the max size CF card supported? I read in another post a 4GB card can be used with a bigger sector size, giving (roughly) twice the logging capacity
Can I set up a catch-all to log all incoming messages?
Cheers
Tim
PCAN Router as CAN logger
Re: PCAN Router as CAN logger
Hi there.
Max CAN bitrate is 1Mbit/s per channel.
Yes, PCAN-Router Pro can record all 4 CANs simultaneously at 1MBit/s.
-> As long as you do -not- configure additional actions,
like calculating function blocks, filtering etc. that consumes uC capacity.
PEAK supports only 2GB CF cards as this is the official limit for the FAT file system.
Users reported that they successfully run a 4GB card formatted with bigger cluster size.
We neither recommend nor support this, all at your own risk (e.g. probably data might get lost).
For that "catch all" config you only need to modify the included "shipping config"
from 500k to 1M (4 entries in the tab DEFAULT VALUES...).
See tutorial p.75 for this ...
