Hi,

i have installed drivers for PCAN-USB. When i run cat /proc/pcan . I get the following:

Code: Select all

*------------- PEAK-System CAN interfaces (www.peak-system.com) -------------
*------------- Release_20141219_n (7.14.0) Jun 29 2015 16:30:06 --------------
*---------------- [mod] [isa] [pci] [dng] [par] [usb] [pcc] -----------------
*--------------------- 1 interfaces @ major 249 found -----------------------
*n -type- -ndev- --base-- irq --btr- --read-- --write- --irqs-- -errors- status
32 usb -NA- ffffffff 255 0x001c 00000000 00000000 00000186 00000000 0x0004
When i run ./receivetest -f=/dev/pcan32 i get:

Code: Select all

receivetest Version "Release_20090203_n" (www.peak-system.com)
------- Copyright (C) 2004-2009 PEAK System-Technik GmbH ------
receivetest comes with ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTY. This is free
software and you are welcome to redistribute it under certain

receivetest: device node="/dev/pcan32"
Only standard frames are accepted, init with 500 kbit/sec.
receivetest: driver version = Release_20141219_n
at this point i'm stuck and don't get any data. but if i close it (ctrl+c) i get:

Code: Select all

receivetest: type = usb
             Serial Number = 0xffffffff
             Device Number = 255
             count of reads = 0
             count of writes = 0
             count of errors = 0
             count of irqs = 442
             last CAN status = 0x0024
             last error = 0
             open paths = 1
             driver version = Release_20141219_n
receivetest: finished (0).
I am new at this so I would really appriciate any advice on how to continous data.

Hi,

do you use a terminated CAN cable and do you have another CAN transmitter with 500k baudrate connected to PCAN-USB?

regards

Michael

Hi,

how about used baudrate of your transmitter and CAN cables (120 Ohm termination included on both sides)?

To help you with your problem we need full details, and all questions must be answered, otherwise we can“t support you with your problem.
