Multiple applications usin PCAN Basic and PCI104

We have an application built with PCAN-basic that runs on a Peak PCI card ( single channel ) to several devices chained together. We now need to run another application simultaneously on the same platform to another set of devices. Is this possible if this new application is built with PCAN-Basic? Is it possible to run PCAN-Dongle and PCAN-PCI on same platform ( i.e one app using dongle and one using pci )? If devices exist on separate physical chains do we need a multichannel board?

( We can run PCAN-View and our original application simultaneously and both receive data but I'm not certain if both can also write data to the CANBus ). I saw a previous post about multiple applications on PCAN-Dongle needing to use different channels and possibly PCAN-Developer instead of PCAN-Basic but unclear if this applies to our case.

Thanks

It´s not possible to connect two different Application at the same time to one CAN Channel. This is only possible with the PCAN-Developer API (which is completly different to the PCAN-Basic API)
The PCAN-View, PCAN-Explorer etc. are build with the PCAN-Developer, and so they could connect to a exsiting communication.

One PCAN-Basic Application could connect to, up to 16 CAN Channels per Device Type (USB/PCI etc.)
