Problem with PCAN-USB

Post by satelitko » Mon 28. Sep 2015, 23:40

Hello,
I bought PCAN-USB (IPEH-002021-138071) about a year ago and It worked without any problem (I use it maybe twice a week).
Today I noticed, that the red LED is on, when sending data it blinks, but it does not connect to the hardware.
I tried another interface (IPEH-002021-57300) and It works OK.
I measured voltages on DB-9, both pins have 2.5V to GND.

What can be the problem?

Regards, Gregor

Hi,

all looks ok. You can do a short test by connecting two PCAN-USBs on the same PC and connect them on CAN with a terminated CAN cable. Than start two instances of PCAN-View with the same baudrate and send some data (cyclic messages with 10 ms). You should receive the data from the other module in the receive window of PCAN-View.

I replaced CAN transceiver (put in a TJA1040 which was on my stock). Now everything is OK and I am happy again ;-)
