Hi,

is it possible to programm the unit to send periodical messages as a stand alone device? Without a PC connected to it or should I move to PCAN-USB FD PRO models?

Hi,

no, a PCAN-USB or PCAN-USB-Pro FD always need an active PC connection. To transmit a periodical signal without PC connection, a PCAN-MicroMod or PCAN-Router can be used.
