PCAN-MicroMod Analog 2 - output scaling

Hello.

PCAN-MicroMod Analog 2 has four analog outputs, each rated 0-10V, based on 12-bit DAC, so it's able to discretize 0-10V to 4096 values. Our specific project needs a voltage range 1.2-3.7V on one output/input, and the resulting number of steps Analog 2 can produce is not enough to achieve wanted precision. Is it possible (recommendable) to scale the output with a resistor that's dimensioned exactly the same as the Analog 2's output, so it would divide the voltage by a factor of 2, meaning we'd have 4096 steps between 0-5V?

Thanks!

Hello,

the 4 ch. DAC used for anaog output has a range of 0...4.096V. The output amplifier has a gain of 2.44 to produce an output voltage of 0..10V.
It is possible to change the gain to 1 to get an output of 0...4.096V (replace a feedback resistor by 0R).
If this is a option for your case please contact us again for the details.

Great, that would solve our problems! Could you send me some more info or guidelines on what to do?

Hello,

please send a Message to support(at)peak-system.com with a reference to this thread.
You will get a description how to modify the baseboard PCAN-MicroMod Analog2 to change the analog output gain to 1 to reduce the output votage range.
