I am developing an application where I need a high number of CAN FD Channels (36)
Have anyone tried to simulate this high number (with 6 6xPCAN USB). What kind of computer should be used?
Any theoretical limit based on USB transfer limit or computer processing power I can calculate?

Hi,

we have already seen customer applications using up to 20 channels with PCAN-USB X6. So this will also be depending on how much busload you have on your 36 channels with 500k. If you have a powerful PC system, with several USB hosts (only one PCAN-USB X6 per USB host, don’t use a cascade) it could work. But please note that the free PCANBasic API only supports up to 16 channels. To support up to 64 channels you have to switch to the API of the PCAN-Developer package.

best regards
