Hi,

I have large tracefiles (370Mb) recorded with th pcan explorer 5. When I try to open thes in the plotter plugin I get an error message "exception occorred"

How can I post process the trace files to divide them into smaller files without loosing track of time ?
I have tried to edit the trace files in an editor but it seams not to work... (maybe file is still too large ? what is the limit for the plotter plugin?)

Do you have a tool for manipulate trace files ?

In the trace window I really would like that the trace filters could be applied on already recorded trace files and then saved as a new trace file. I also would like if I could select a part of a recored trace file and save this into a new trace file.

When recording trace files I also would like to have a filer so that I don't record a signal at every occorance. The system under test have signals that are updated each 10ms. I would like to record these signal less frequently to reduce the file size.

I'm running version: 5.1.2.666 and the plugin version: 2.0.3, Vista 64 bit with 4Gb internal memory

Hi Eric,

thank you for your post. Regarding that Plotter import problem of hugh trace files, we have fixed that issue in a newer version which we have not released yet. If you like to get that version upfront, please contact us by email (support@peak-system.com) with your serialnumber of your PCAN-Explorer 5 licence.

At the moment we do not have a tool to split trace files into smaller files, but we will think about implementing that feature into our PEAK-Converter Tool, which can convert trace files into other formats.

Also the filter option of already traced files is a good idea, which we will put on the featurelist for one of the next releases.

Regarding the feature to trace messages with a lower rate than the occurence, you can build up a VBmacro to handle such a feature. It will also be possible to write signals directly into a Excel sheet by such a VBmacro.
