Hi.

I have during the last weeks coded C i Linux with IPEH-002021.
Driver 1.4.6 64-Bit.
PEAK Basic API 4.4.0 .
Ubuntu 20.04.1 LTS 64-Bit

Suddenly the drivers wont load any more.
pcan device does not show up using > sudo lsmod
No information using > cat /proc/pcan

But I can see the cable attached using > lsusb

I have disabled secure boot in bios.

In a second computer I have the same setup. And in this computer I can see pcan device using > sudo lsmod , but I cant open the device since > cat /proc/pcan shows nothing.
Secure boot disabled in this computer too.

I need a reliable system. What can I do?

/Terje.

Hello Terje,

Was there are kernel-upgrade to your system recently?

In this case you need to rebuild and reinstall the drivers for your new kernel.

The compilation and installation procedure is described in the PCAN-LINUX driver documentation:

http://www.peak-system.com/fileadmin/me ... an_eng.pdf
Driver 1.4.6 64-Bit.
Our current driver is driver ver. 8.10.2,
Driver version 1.4 was released in 2002.

where did you get this driver-version information?

Best Regards

Marvin

Hi.

Drivers taken from your online DVD

Drivers/PCAN-USB Hub Serial Driver/Linux/libftd2xx-x86_64-1.4.6.tgz

And the PCAN Basic I've got from you by email.

In tuesday this week all was ok. Yesterday, Thursday it failed to load the drivers.
Don't think there has been any update.
I'm running Ubuntu om a real computer.

Will test more tonight.
I'm not any expert in how the linux drivers works. (Yet.)

/Terje.

Terje,

Please use the current PCAN-Linux driver intended for the use with the PCAN-USB (IPEH-002021), which you can find here:

http://www.peak-system.com/fileadmin/me ... 0.2.tar.gz

Furthermore we do provide a documentation, which describes how to build, install and load the driver:

http://www.peak-system.com/fileadmin/me ... an_eng.pdf

i would recommend to always use the latest driver available.

Please report back to me if this was able to resolve your issue.

Best Regards

Marvin
