CAN-GND and LIN-GND

I use the PCAN-USB Pro FD and have a question about grounding. The manual clearly says “Both LIN channels (common ground) are opto-decoupled against USB and CAN FD”. I checked the continuity on the connector and found that the grounds are indeed isolated. I am designing a board that has both CAN and LIN transceivers. This board will be connected to an MCU on one end and the PCAN-USB Pro FD on the other. Now, the ground is common on the MCU side, i.e. there is only one ground. Connecting my transceiver board to the PCAN-USB Pro FD would tantamount to shorting CAN-GND and LIN-GND. Is this OK? My transceiver board will only be connected to the MCU and PCAN-USB Pro FD. No other connections are involved.
