Replacement for ISA-Card with VCANW32.DLL

Hello,

currently I am running a feeding system software from a external company. The software uses VCANW32.DLL Ver. 1.10 as API; PEAKCAN.SYS Ver. 1.70 as Driver for the ISA Card on WIN2000.

Is it possible to replace the ISA-Card with an PCI-Card or any other without the need to change software except for hardware drivers?

Hi,

this is depending on how the software was written. If it is fixed to use a PCAN-ISA card only (hardware and Netname is configured by the SW), you can't switch to a PCI based PCAN card. If it is written to connect to an existing Netname only, there is a chance to use a PCAN-PCI card, however, it is necesaary to use a driver version 2.x only, because the vcanw32.dll is from the 90s and supports drivers up to 2.x only.

BTW: we still have PCAN-ISA cards (2channel-opto) on stock, so you only have to search for a suitable motherboard.
