Tx Self-Acknowledge for PCAN-USB?

Post by nurber » Mon 4. Sep 2023, 02:48

Hi Forum. To confirm I should be able to set "Tx Self-Acknowledge" in PCAN-View 5.1.0.887 with same model IPEH-002021 dongle as original poster using driver 4.4.0 and firmware 8.6.1 ?

Thanks, Sven

Dear Sven,

the PCAN-USB device with the part number IPEH-002021 [and IPEH-002022) don´t support the "Tx Self-Acknowledge" feature.

Best regards

See Documentation of the Software (PCAN-View, PCAN-Basic API etc.)

Tx Self-Acknowledge
If activated, the CAN controller sends an Acknowledge slot (ACK) on the bus even as sender, so that no other CAN nodes must be present on the bus to acknowledge the frame.
Requires at least PCAN driver version 4.3.0 and the CAN interface used or its firmware version must support the feature.

The "TX Self-Acknowlegde"-Feature require a CAN-FD capable hardware.
