UART over CAN with pcan usb x6

I have this gem of an issue dropped in my lap. Its 2 micro controllers talking to each other, they are sending and receiving serial communication at 1Mbs 8n1 but on either end of the cabling is a can transceiver

so while the physical, electrical layer is can, the communications is serial. Is there a way to send just a stream of data without the proper formatting with a pcan (I am able to do it with a no name amazon adapter that simply shows up as a COM port in windows, but I need a bunch of channels, therefore an X6 box is ideal)

Thanks

Hello KDady,

The PCAN-USB X6 uses our proprietary drivers and does not support being used as a virtual COM-Port,
the transceiver can handle CAN 2.0 A/B and FD and does not handle serial communication natively.

So unfortunately the PCAN-USB X6 is not suitable for your application.

You might want to use a good USB-Host and multiple of the device you have mentioned,
from experience i'd advise against passive USB hubs. Active Hubs as well as USB PCI(e)-Extensions Cards
should be suitable.

Feel free to contact us if you need further assistance.

Best Regards
