Hi
I have am small Problem and hope you could help me.
My tools is a Pcan USB Pro FD with the Explorer 5 Software. (I have also a Pcan Diag FD)
I want to read a special CAN message, but this is not possible while the CAN is normal running. i cant identify this message. The identifier isnt known.
Is it possible to read the CAN for a small time and hide all active messages? In this case it should be possible to see all new messages.
Thank you for a reply.
Greetings
Gary

Re: Hide of can messages
You could start a Tracer for some seconds, and Stop it. After that then you are able to read which message have arrived within this timeframe and see all single CAN Frames inside the TRC File (text based).
Also you could check which Messages are NOT the one you searching for - and simply filter these Messages in the PCAN-Explorer 5.

Re: Hide of can messages
Hi
Thanks for your reply.
The problem is that I need to search for a special message from a truck. There are hundred of messages. Other programs has the option to hide all actual messages to see the new ones.
I was hoping for such a function.

"Hide" the messages ...simply use a Tracer then you see ONLY the new one - i do not unerstand what exact your problem is. When you know which Messages are NOT the one you search for - set Filters..create Signal - etc.
If you want to reverse engeneering a not known and not normed (J1939) CAN Bus, it could be need some time.

Hi.
Yes, you are right. I want to do some reverse engineering. I'm searching for the identifier and the message of the NOx sensor.
Ok. Thank you for your help. I have another way in my head. Maybe this could be a way.

Re: Hide of can messages
If your system is a Truck , big Engine, Agricultural machine, construction machine etc. it could be based on J1939.
For example the Engine Exhaust NOx. But there are a lot of NOx values on a J1939 Bus.
When using the PCAN-Explorer 6 with J1939 AddIn you could easely find this values and read in "normal" format.
like EngineExhaustNOx, EngineExhaustDesiredNOx, EngExhaustNOxSensorPowerSupply etc.
