Instruments Panel : modern auto-layout/resize rather than old fixed coordinates/sizes

Post by tcoquard » Mon 9. Mar 2020, 11:25

Hi.

Having used the Instruments Panel (in P.E.5) a few times, I noticed it uses fixed coordinates/size for positioning controls, which is time-consuming when designing, and not practical when resizing the whole window or tab page (because it is based on old programming technology still found in traditional Windows frameworks). Therefore I didn't use it more than for designing small in-house diagnostic tools.

Could it be possible to modernize it by implementing powerful automatic layout and resize features as one can find in Qt , wxWidgets ... or developer tips and tricks on codeproject ?

Thanks in advance...

Hello,

This is considered for a future release of PCAN-Explorer.

Sorry for missing this rule : while I probably had read the rules, I hadn't paid attention to the fact that these links (intended to quote my sources for supporting my opinion) could have been considered as advertising, then a breach of the rule.
