PCAN-Router Pro

Post by DagLundstrom » Wed 9. Dec 2020, 14:01

Hi,

PCAN-Router Pro

Im trying to flash the router with my own application. I have used the development environment and the sample code "ROUTING_01" after several trials and managed to write the code to the unit that got reprogrammed. GOOD..
But now when I try to program the unit with a somewhat updated software I can not get the flash program to recongize the board at all. When I hit "DETECT" it never finds the board.

Do I need to do something with the HW for the board to recongoize the flash tool?
Do I need to put it into BOOT? How do I do that? Where can I read about this?

Please help!

Regards
Dag

Hello,

Thank you for your request.

Yes, since you overwritten the default-firmware which can activate the bootaloader via software you'll need
to set the rotary switch (inside the case) to "F" before Bootup to write new firmware to the device.

Page 43 - 44 of the PCAN-Router Pro User Manual describes this further:

If you prefer a bootloader activation via firmware, please have a look at the example "04_Bootloader" to see how you can implement a firmware-based solution to put the PCAN-Router Pro into Bootloader -Mode, so you do not need to set the rotary switch:
