Binary trace format

Post by JoeCr111 » Wed 12. Dec 2012, 15:21

Hi,

we are using the PCAN-Explorer 5 to monitor the CAN-Bus during development. To catch some rare problems during prototyping of our machine we have implemented a simple Can-logger in the display.

Currently we are using the standard trace file format to evaluate the data afterwards in the PCAN-Explorer. Due to the ascii format of the trace data it is very space consuming. We want to switch to the binary trace (btr) format. Is there a specification of the binary trace format available?

Many thanks in advance

We are sorry, but the BTR (Binary Trace Format) Specification is not public at the moment. Maybe you could use a simple own Format in binary mode for save space in your Logfiles.
