Hi,
when we are using PCAN-USB interface connecterd to the CAN BUS and connected to the USB unconfigured (without using PCAN View, just physically installed) we are getting CAN passive- and active error frames.
We suppose that the default configuration of the interface does not work with our setup (baurate and bit-timing).
Is ist possible to setup default configuration via firmware?
We are using PCAN-USB IPEH-002022.
Thanks
Torben

Re: change default CAN-Setup
No, this is not possible, and also not needed. The Device do not disturb a running Network if it is connected but not initialized by any Software.
Are you sure that your network have the minimum needed two actice CAN nodes? Otherwise, when you send out a Frame and have no second active Device, you will run into problems.

Re: change default CAN-Setup
Hi,
we were able to record that the PCAN-USB interface is transmitting into a running frame.
Our measurement setup is a CAN-Analyzer with wich we trigger a scope. Among other things the scope is connected to the rx- and tx-lines of the transceiver of the PCAN-USB.
The pulse length generated from the PCAN USB is 6 µs this corresponds to the lenght of an error-frame when used a baudrate of 1 MBits/s. We are using 500 KBits/s.
Please see the violation caused by the PCAN-USB attached.
These violations doesnt occur when the device is initialized.
Kind regards
Torben

Re: change default CAN-Setup
Please answer our questions. Do you use a second CAN node, in active mode in your environment, and is the PCAN-USB the 3rd or higher node?
Also, is the PCAN-USB definitaly NOT initialized (RED LED is permanent on - not flashing)
Please send used Driver version , used OS Version, used Firmware of the CAN Interface Version etc. We need to know what exact is running in your environment.
You also could contact us per e-mail --> support[at]peak-system.com

Do you use a second CAN node, in active mode in your environment,
-Yes.
and is the PCAN-USB the 3rd or higher node?
-Yes. There are about 30 nodes.

- The PCAN-USB is definitaly NOT initialized, RED LED is permanent on, not blinking. This behavior can be observed on USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 Ports
Firmware 6.8.1
Software 5.0.4.860
Driver 4.4.0
