Nominal and Data Prescaler different

Post by MontecaE » Wed 6. Sep 2023, 11:52

Hi All,
I'm testing our CAN-FD device using PCAN-View as reference for nominal bit rate /data bit rate to be tested.
I've noticed that every combination (except for SAE J2284-4 and SAE J2284-5) has nominal and data prescaler different which causes a warning.

Why these presets has prescalers different?

The "red" means "warning". Some of the predefined nominal and data bitrates could be used together - some are better not to be used.

But you are right - we need to specify more suitable values - we will put it on our ToDo and hopefully we can create a new database in the near future.

Best is always to ask the CAN-FD Node maintainer to give the correct timing and use this in your environment.
