PCAN-USB: Using PCAN-USB to get DTCs from OBD-II ports

Post by newuser123 » Thu 23. Nov 2023, 15:41

Hi everyone,
So I have PEAK, PCAN-USB IPEH ... device, and I have successfully connected to a VW cars and read DTCs etc..
Now on Renault POBD2 Viewer says there is no supported ECU to connect to...
Anyone has maybe some insights on how to connect?
My main goal is to use it as diagnostic tool, for cars and industrial motors like Deutz, Hatz, Perkins etc..

Would appreciate any info thanks!!

Hi,

industrial motors like Deutz uses the J1939 CAN protocol. With PCAN-Explorer 6 and J1939 Add-In you can read out DM1 messages, which contain the DTCs in J1939.
