Connect port 1 directly to port 2

Hi,
For testing purpose, can i wire Can Port 1 directly to Can Port 2 on my PCAN-Ethernet Gateway DR.
I want to write 2 windows software, one will connect to Port 1 and the 2nd one will connect to port 2, and those software will exchange information using the can bus.
