Migrating from PCAN-MicroMod to PCAN-MicroMod FD

Post by MarkDownham » Tue 1. Apr 2025, 10:21

I see that you intend to make the PCAN-MicroMod obsolete this year, and your webpage suggests using the PCAN-MicroMod FD for future projects. I don't see any guidance on migrating existing designs based on the original device to the new one. Have you created any such documentation?

Admittedly, I haven't dug into the datasheets for the two variants just yet, but what I have read so far is that the two use different pitches of headers with differing quantities of pins available on each device. I also wonder if my existing configuration files, of which I have many, are compatible with the new devices?

Hello,

unfortunately the MicroModFD is a complete different device, and not hardware/software compatible to the older PCAN-MicroMod. The MicroMod is EOL because the used microcontroller MB90F497G is no longer available.
