Setting RTC in PCAN Router Pro

I am having difficulty setting a time in the router pro system RTC. working from the tutorial files, I can read the packed value perfectly well and as I have set the LEDs to illuminate on receive I can see the packets for time, date and RTC write arriving at the Router Pro, but see no change in RTC value (beyond normal upward counting). While I can work around this by adding a 59 minute offset to my trace files, this will be confusing for others who may need to work with the files.
I am using PPCAN editor 2.2.3.268 and PCAN Explorer 6.8.0.2882 to send/view the data.

Are there any known "gotcha's" that catch people out while attempting to implement this function?
