Unable to Power On

Post by canbus » Fri 5. Dec 2014, 17:49

Hello, we are testing 2 of these units for use in the field, however I have been unable to power on the units.

There are 4 pins provided:
1 GND
2 not connected
3 Vbat (8 - 30 V)
4 Shield (top hat rail potential)

I am using a Meanwell MDR-10-12 that supplies 12V DC / 0.84 Amps.

This unit has 3 output pins:
1 +V
2 -V
3 DC OK

What is the correct wiring between the MDR and the PCAN-Gateway ?

Ok I've figured it out, the issue is that the pin labelled GND for ground is actually the negative terminal and not really a grounding pin.

The PEAK user manual needs to be updated, it is missing these important details.

it should include:
- Current requirements (mA)
- Power supply wiring diagram

There should also be a troubleshooting guide at the end of the manual

Hello,

thanks for your feedback. Nice to hear that the gateway is working now.
Please take a look inside the manual for infos about the current requirements

Thanks for the reply Gunther, you may want to follow up with your American resellers that they have the latest manuals and specs. In the version made available to me there was no current specification:

This from "Document version 1.0.0 (2013-07-26)" and I see that your website has corrected the omission.
