Newbie question - apologies in advance if already discussed elsewhere, but I couldn't find the answer...
I would like to use PCAN-View (or a similar CANBUS analysis/monitoring package under Windows 7 x64) to read/analyse CANBUS messages from a serial (COM) port. Is this possible?
The CANBUS messages are already 'sniffed' and provided to COM5 (via an Arduino setup) so that I can see them in PuTTY and move them into Excel for analysis.
I can't find any drivers/method/instructions on how to do this - just interfaces to hardware that I don't have
Help appreciated!

Hi,
PCAN-View will only work with PEAK hardware, COM port devices will not be supported by that software.
best regards

Thanks - that's a shame. Guess it means I'm uninstalling this software...!
Anyone else got any suggestions for (free

) software that will do what I need?
