Hi
So I have PCAN Ethernet Gateway DR and I have connected it with a ISIS powercell at the other end via CAN . I am able to open a gateway and set up the routes as instructed. But My PCAN view software does not read any available hardware. I have also installed the virtual PCAN gateway and set up the routes. It has the yellow led on which indicates that something is wrong somewhere but I can't seem to find it. I am uploading the images so that you have the idea of the status. Please let me know if anybody can help!
Thanks.

Re: PCAN view Problems
As long as the connection is not established, you will not see the CAN Hardware in the selection list of the PCAN-View.
Please check if all virtuall LEDs are green and all routes running. If this is OK, you will find the Ethernet Gateway as CAN Hardware in the Selection List of the PCAN-View. If you do not get it work, please send us the Ethernet Configuration and the Configuration of your virtuell CAN Gateway to support@peak-system.com - we could check what could be the problem.

Re: PCAN view Problems
Just another thing. Orange LEDs describe an "initialization-status" of the REALTEC PCIe GBE Family Controller network adapter. This means:
Check the adapter Status by inspecting it in "Adapter settings" from the "Network and Sharing Center" from Windows. Normally the icon shows you already if there are problems within an adapter:
- The adapter has no network cable attached
- The cable is attached but there is no other node connected (for instance, the PCAN-Gateway is not working due to lack of energy)
- There is a problem on the network that prevent the adapter to obtain an IP address.
- The adapter cannot initialize due to any other problem.

Re: PCAN view Problems
Hi
Thanks for replying. I was able to set up the and find the channels. When we send a message from PCAN view, What is the CAN id we need to use. I have the PGN numbers . The CAN id contains those. I want to know about the other bits, especially the 8 bit source address. Is there any particular address for our gateway or PCAN view needs to use?

Re: PCAN view Problems
Your question is independend from the CAN Hardware you use. The J1939 protocol explain in detail how to use CAN ID´s to build PGN (including priotity). Please read J1939 definition/specification, or use a Tool like PCAN-Explorer with J1939 AddIn - than you could directly communicate using PGNs.
