Symbol file problem

Post by angcaruso » Wed 6. Oct 2010, 16:21

Hi,

I have created a project and connected to a net. I am receiving a stream of messages in the Receive/Transmit window. After adding and applying a symbol file, I find that the received message stream is still displaying as raw hex data, i.e. the symbol file does not appear to have any effect. This works fine in PCAN-Explorer 3. I have tried upgrading the symbol file to version 5 format, and also creating a brand new symbol file from scratch in the symbol editor tool. In no case can I get the received messages to be decoded with the symbol file. What am I doing wrong?

Hi,

please check the defined length code and CAN message type (standard, extended) in your symbol file. It will be helpfull when you post a small trace of your CAN messages (hex) and the symbol file to check that problem. Please also send details about the Buildversion of the used PCAN-Explorer 5.x software. Thank you.

best regards

Michael
