CoDeSys&Wireless Gateway
CoDeSys&Wireless Gateway
Hello,
I wanna use the Software CoDeSys with the Wireless Gateway to get ride of the PEAK USB Dongel. I can trace the CAN traffic with PCAN Explorer 5 using the Wireless Gateway.
But if i try to send Software updates out of CoDeSys, i get a communication Error. I think i use the wrong communication Parameter.
The attached images shows the communication box in CodeSys. If i use the USB Dongel, the driver is set to PEAK_USB. I tried PEAK_LAN, PEAK_VIRTUAL but it dosent work, i still get a communication error.
Right now i use TCP as transmission protocol on the Gateway.
Anyone got experience using CoDeSys together with the Peak Gateways?

Re: CoDeSys&Wireless Gateway
Please contact 3S-Software . If they include as optional Device Type the Virtual CAN Interface it should work. It is exact the same API as used for PCAN-USB, PCAN-PCIe etc. Only the Device Handle is new (new Device Driver)
But this must be done inside CodeSys. We have no access to change / add any Device.

Re: CoDeSys&Wireless Gateway
Thanks for the feedback - we know - we have send them some Ethernet and Wireless Gateways to test their development with real Hardware.

Re: CoDeSys&Wireless Gateway
I've just talked to the CoDeSys Support.
Bad News, they wont implement the Wireless Gateway into CoDeSys Version 2.3, it should/can work with Version 3, no real answer there.
Version 3 of CoDeSys dosent work with our Controllers. (Hydac TTC60)
Now we are at the Point were we could switch to IXXAT Hardware + IXXAT CAN Explorer, fully supported by CoDeSys or try to find a solution.
Is there any way to send the the CoDeSys Project/Boot Project form the PC to the Wireless Gateway -> Controller?
CoDeSys told me, they not responsible after the Boot Project is build.

Re: CoDeSys&Wireless Gateway
Hello!
Same Problem here, just for the PCAN-Ethernet Gateway DR (IPEH 004010).
I am connected and recieve live-data from an IFM at my pc via Ethernet, visualized at the PCAN-View.
But i am not able to connect to the IFM via CodeSys. I use CodeSys 2.3 and a IFM CR0401.
There is integration for the wireless gateway, but what about the wired gateway?
Is there a solution by now? Some special CAN card driver for connecting via Ethernet?
cheerz

Re: CoDeSys&Wireless Gateway
Please contact 3S - as far as we know they support the Gateways in 3-x up. See here
It makes no different if you use a Wireless CAN-Gateway (WLAN) or the Ethernet-CAN Gateway (LAN) It both ends up in a Ethernet Socket on the PC / Driver.
