status peak can

Post by darknain » Tue 15. May 2018, 17:03

Hello,

I am on Ubuntu 16.04
I plug my peak can usb and use the command :

Code: Select all

sudo ip link set can0 up type can bitrate 50000
then

Code: Select all

nmcli device status
and I see :

can0 not managed

I would like to have the same status as the wifi, knowing if it's connected to a device(communicating), available (peak can plugged) and unavailable(no peak can plugged).

If there is a way of making can managed by nmcli I would be grateful or something similar

Best Regards,

You use socket CAN driver - so please contact the socket CAN community to get more information. LINK
We support socket CAN (low level driver) but all the high layer Interface is done by the Community.
If you use our CharDev driver, we could answer you all question, because it is maintananced completly from our company, the Socket CAN Tools are not from us.
