Can't get CAN Router Pro CAN port 2 to behave same as port 3

Post by mellis » Fri 8. Feb 2019, 20:47

Setup

I have a PCAN Router Pro and am trying to set up the following behavior:

* CAN Port 2 is 250 kBits/sec and transmits all received messages to CAN Port 1
* CAN Port 3 is 250 kBits/sec and transmits all received messages to CAN Port 1
* CAN Port 4 is 500 kBits/sec and transmits all received messages to CAN Port 1
* CAN Port 1 is connected to a PCAN-USB device and a PC running PCAN Explorer 6
* TX and RX LEDs are set up to blink for each port on message TX and RX

I am using standard firmware V1.14 and a PPCAN Editor2 configuration to try to achieve this.

Problem

* CAN Port 3 works: CAN Port 3 is able to receive CAN messages from my 250 kbit/s CAN network, the Port 3 LEDs blink, and the Port 3 messages are transmitted on CAN Port 1 and received by PCAN Explorer 6.
* CAN Port 2 does not work: With CAN Port 2 connected to the same 250 kbit/s CAN network, no messages are received and the 250 kbit/s message source reports Tx errors. Here is a copy of the Tx error:

CAN Error TxErr ECC: 110001110xxxxx, Not Acknowledge error, dominant error flag, Bit Position = 71

I have (2) PCAN Router Pro devices and both devices behave the same way. I've attached my PPCAN Editor 2 configuration file. I assume that I have a problem with the PPCAN Editor 2 configuration. Can you help?

Thanks,
Matt

Hello.

PPCAN-Editor should be version 2.1.0.245 or higher.
CAN 2 might be defective -> swap internal CAN modules.
CAN 2 must be terminated properly, and

IMPORTANT:
CAN 1 runs 500k, but is stuffed with 500k+250k+250k.
Please check your bus load on CAN 1 !
Probably change to 1M for testing ...

Meanwhile connect PPCAN Editor to the remaining 500k port,
or better: close it while your test.
