Shortend Ground
Shortend Ground
Hi,
i received my PLIN-USB today. I created a small adapter from our PCB-Edge-Connector to an female D-Sub Connector. Everything seems fine, but the PLIN View Software says "Bus-Line: Shorted Ground". But there is no obvious short-cut on my adapter? Do i miss somethgin? Our Vbat is about 12 Volt.
Thanks!
Best regards,
O4r

Hi,
like described here: https://www.peak-system.com/PLIN-USB.485.0.html

Re: Shortend Ground
Hi,
that is ok. Please measure the LIN voltage on the PLIN-USB against GND

Re: Shortend Ground
Hi,
that is not correct. LIN will only work above 6 Volts (typically 8-18V), please see technical spec in the manual for more details. In your post above you say you use 12Volts?

Re: Shortend Ground
Hi,
thanks for the answer!
Yes, we have an adopted "LIN" since we are not part of the automotive industry. We have a 4-pin connector with GND, LIN, 5V, 12V, whereas the LIN is also 5V.
So it seems, that i need to make an adapter board (5V<->12V)...
Thank you very much for your help!
