Hello,
New to the forum. I have a PCAN-LIN module I am trying to setup to read the LIN info on one of the many LIN buses in my car. I have a lot of CAN experience but this is my first with LIN.
I don't know for sure what the bit rate is at this point, but I have been trying bit rates starting at 1000 and increment by 100 and monitoring the status LED's. I have found between 12,700 and 13,000 i get both LED's flickering Green. Any other bit rates I either have no LED's or the Error LED is red and the other is flickering Green. I'm not sure if this is a good method of determining the bit rate or not.
When I have both LED's green, I don't have any data displayed in the Messages Scheduler tab.
Any Ideas? Do you happen to know what bit rate General Motors uses?
Thanks,
Brian

Re: Reading LIN information in Chevrolet car
Hi Brian,
we don´t know the LIN bit rate of your GM car. LIN is a little different than CAN, you must also set the correct LIN format, the matching bit length and "Subscriber" as direction. Please also take care that the "Forward Mask" is set to RS-232. regards
